WELDABILITY
Tests have shown that NIBRON SPECIAL is inherently weldable both to
itself and Grade 316 stainless steel. The welds produced are of high
metallurgical and physical integrity, good mechanical strength and
ductility. Conventional inert gas shielded arc methods using a nickel
aluminium bronze filler give very good results. Further studies involving
helium shielding and a NIBRON filler metal are being conducted to optimise
the joining process. (For more details
see next page).
