MONALLOY 13 / Alloy 400

Monalloy 13 is a nickel copper alloy displaying good strength, toughness and corrosion resistance at temperatures up to 400°C. It has excellent resistance to seawater and good resistance to hydrofluoric and dilute non-oxidising acids, alkalies and salts. It also resists corrosion by dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride and is not susceptible to chloride stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is readily cold formable and weldable.

Ideal applications for MONALLOY-13 include use in desalination plants, salt production, power station heat exchangers and numerous other areas of process plant, including offshore splashzone protection.

Mechanical properties depend on the supply condition required but all products conform to British Standard NA13 requirements.

Availability ex-stock: Round Rod ¼" to 6¼" diameter in metric and imperial sizes. Hexagon 10 mm to 50 mm A/F. Sheet 0.5 mm to3 mm thick. Other sizes available on request.

MONALLOY 18 /Alloy K-500 (High Strength)

MONALLOY 18 is a nickel copper based alloy to which aluminium and titanium are added to impart precipitation hardening capability. The alloy has the same corrosion resistant characteristics as MONALLOY 13, but is capable of achieving significantly higher mechanical properties maintained at up to 650°C.

MONALLOY 18 is supplied either in the fully precipitation hardened condition for direct application, or in the solution treated (soft) condition to enable forming operations to be carried out prior to the final precipitation hardening heat treatment.

MONALLOY 18 is used widely as a high performance bolting, shafting and valve material for marine and process plant applications where its high strength, corrosion resistance and temperature resistance can be used to optimum advantage. The alloy also has a very low magnetic permeability for use in components such as instrument casings and subsea instrumentation equipment and connectors.

Mechanical properties depend on the supply condition, heat treatment etc. but all conform to British Standard NA18 requirements.

Availability ex-stock: Round Rod 12mm to 200 mm diameter in metric and imperial sizes dependant on supply condition. Other sizes available on request.
