SILVERSPEED - XL®

This is a truly superlative free-machining alloy with a machinability rating almost the same as free cutting brass. It is highly recommended for the production of intricate components by complex machining operations. This grade is stocked exclusively by Columbia and has basically the same application and performance characteristics as NS 101. The invaluable increase of around 20% in machinability can provide clean, burr free, close tolerance, high surface quality components at maximum production speeds and prolonged tool life.

SILVERSPEED - XL is a copper alloy with additions of zinc and nickel to give an attractive soft silvery colour not as brash as stainless steel. The alloys combination of strength, high modulus spring properties, corrosion and oxidation resistance, anti-galling properties, excellent cryogenic performance and numerous other attributes combined with ease of forming, machining, plating and joining make SILVERSPEED an excellent choice for many engineering applications.
