This alloy has a superb machinability rating closely approaching that of free cutting brass. The mechanical properties are similar to that of PB102 but with the added lead content, the alloy not only offers outstanding machinability but significant self lubrication, self seating, alignment and anti seizure properties in bearing applications. In sheet and plate form it is an ideal replacement for engraving and enamelling purposes, replacing in performance the traditional engraving bronze no longer available.
COLPHOS 90 is recommended for consideration in many applications where a conventional non-leaded bronze would be used. Typical uses include thrust washers, bearing bushes, cams, clutch plates, intricate machined fasteners and components, gears, and pump and valve spindles.

COLBRONZE is classed as a high performance 8% tin (phosphor) bronze. The alloy has a higher tin content than PB102 and possesses exceptional bearing, wear and spring properties, combined with excellent fatigue properties and corrosion fatigue in marine and other corrosive environments.
These properties enable COLBRONZE to be utilised in a wide range of industries with applications including high duty fasteners, bearing bushes, drive shafts, pump and valve components, high performance engine valve guides, electrical clamps, connectors and switchgear.
