Alloy A-286 is a special corrosion, oxidation and heat resistant, precipitation hardenable, non magnetic austenitic stainless steel. The alloy is designed for long-term high strength service up to 700°C and has a good oxidation resistance in continuous service up to 800°C.
The alloy has a machinability rating of 45% that of AISI1212 free cutting grade alloy in its precipitation hardened state. Typical applications include turbine shafts, aero engine components, high performance fasteners for aerospace, chemical, petrochemical and offshore equipment, critical pump and valve components for aggressive petrochemical and offshore oil and gas production.

COLUMBIA 325 is a uniquely British free machining grade of austenitic stainless steel with a machinability rating some 50% better than grade 316 austenitic stainless steel. The addition of sulphur gives the alloy its free cutting properties. Grade 325 is also titanium stabilized to give improved weldability through restriction of carbide precipitation. It exhibits the recognised corrosion resistant qualities of normal austenitic grades and is substantially non-magnetic.
COLUMBIA 325 is ideal for more intricate machining operations and finds application in all types of fasteners and other machined parts for chemical, petrochemical plant, magnetically sensitive instrumentation, and many areas of application making best use of its intrinsic resistance to galling and seizure.

17-4 PH is a well established precipitation hardening
stainless steel capable of achieving very high strength and hardness after
a relatively simple heat treatment. It offers excellent corrosion
resistance combined with a structured range of mechanical property levels
depending on the precise heat treatment applied. It is readily machined
and fabricated in the softer tempers and may then be heat treated to
exceptional strength and with excellent dimensional stability.
It is widely used in the chemical, petrochemical, offshore, paper, food
and aerospace industries making best use of its outstanding corrosion
resistance, wear resistance, strength and hardness.
17-4 PH is stocked in the two most popular grades :
Condition A (solution heat treated): The starting point for all subsequent heat treatments.
Condition H1150M: The softest condition for easiest fabrication.
*Note: There are five other standard heat treatments structured to give strength and hardness levels between H900 and H1150M
